How we approach this project
We built three interconnected platforms: a public-facing web and mobile experience for tree adoption, donations, and finding plantation drives; an admin dashboard for reviewing requests and coordinating government initiatives; and a mobile app for on-ground inspection teams to upload proof-of-care photos and monitor tree health across official lands.
The challenge
Pakistan has lost three-quarters of its tree cover in a decade. DeliverTree was formed as an official partner of the Lahore Forest and Punjab government forestry departments to reverse that trend — but coordinating donors, government authorities, and the volunteer teams doing the actual planting required technology that didn't exist.
What we built
- Public portals (web + mobile). Donors can adopt trees, fund plantation drives, and find drives happening near them.
- Admin dashboard. Government and DeliverTree staff review plantation requests, sponsor initiatives, and coordinate campaigns.
- Inspection mobile app. On-ground maintenance teams upload proof-of-care photos and health updates for every tree, creating an auditable trail from sponsor to sapling.
The outcome
Half a million trees planted and counting, with a clear path to the 15-million target. Just as importantly, the platform gives the Punjab government a real-time view into what's actually getting planted and maintained — the kind of accountability that lets a reforestation program actually scale.
What changed for DeliverTree
More than 505,000 trees have been planted through the platform to date, with a target of 15 million by 2024. DeliverTree is now the official technology partner for the Lahore Forest department and the Punjab government forestry program.
