Company Background

A web platform that evaluates stocks against 43 indicators inspired by Warren Buffett and Phil Fisher, producing a single aggregate score investors can reason about. Accepted into one of Pakistan's top accelerators.

Retail investors without a finance background struggle to compare stocks meaningfully. Existing tools either oversimplify to a single grade or overwhelm with raw data. Investogenie needed a methodology that was rigorous enough to be defensible and simple enough to be understood.

Engagement

Retail investors without a finance background struggle to compare stocks meaningfully. Existing tools either oversimplify to a single grade or overwhelm with raw data. Investogenie needed a methodology that was rigorous enough to be defensible and simple enough to be understood.

How we approach this project

We designed an aggregate weighted scoring system drawing on the investment principles of Warren Buffett and Phil Fisher, analyzing 43 indicators per stock. A dynamic weighting algorithm adjusts indicator importance over time as market conditions change. The web application wraps this in an accessible UI — tracking, comparing, and explaining every component of each score.

The challenge

The core problem was translation: rigorous value-investing frameworks are powerful but inaccessible to people without financial training. A good tool needed to preserve the analytical depth of Buffett- and Fisher-style evaluation while exposing a surface simple enough for a first-time investor to act on.

What we built

  • 43-indicator scoring model. Fundamentals, quality-of-business, management, and valuation signals combined into a single weighted score per stock.
  • Dynamic weightings. The algorithm adjusts indicator importance over time so the score adapts to shifting market regimes rather than ossifying.
  • Investor-facing web app. Wireframes and UI refined with real users. Every score breaks down into its component indicators so investors can see exactly why a stock ranks where it does.

The outcome

The product reached production, was validated with ~20 investment students, and earned the company a spot in one of Pakistan's top accelerators. The founder's work was recognized beyond the product itself — he was subsequently invited to join a local private equity firm as VP of Investments.
